What is a worldview?

A worldview is a person’s collection of PRESUPPOSITIONS, CONVICTIONS, and VALUES from which the person tries to understand and make sense out of the world he lives in and the life he now lives.

“A worldview is a conceptual scheme by which we consciously or unconsciously place or fit everything we believe and by which we interpret and judge reality.”
Nash, Ronald H., Faith and Reason, Zondervan, Grand Rapids, p. 24, 1988.

“A worldview is, first of all, an explanation and interpretation of the world and second, an application of this view to life.”
Phillips, W. Gary, and Brown, Williams E., Making Sense of Your World from a Biblical Viewpoint, Moody Press, Chicago, p. 29, 1991

•ADOLF HITLER had a world view.
•SOCRATES, Plato, and ARISTOTLE all had world views.
•MOHAMMED and his followers had/have world views.
•Charles DARWIN had a world view.
•Your COLLEGE age child has a world view.
•Your NEIGHBOR, employee, employer, and best FRIEND all have worldviews.
•The BIBLE has a worldview.

Genesis 1:1-3a
John 1:1-3
1 John 1:1-2

Four simple truths that form a “Biblical World View.”
1.It all STARTS with GOD.
2.JESUS is GOD.
3.Everything WAS and IS by Jesus Christ.
4.Our purpose is fulfilled by EXPERIENCING Him and FOLLOWING Him.
