Which famous person would play you in a movie?
Ginnifer Goodwin, Sandra Bullock or Julia Roberts — obviously not because they are look-alikes . . . I just love each of them as an actress.
What are your pet peeves?
Inconsistency grates all over me. And when people respond to “I love you” with “ditto” . . . honestly, is it really too hard to just say it if you mean it??? I think we all need to hear those three words as much as possible and “ditto” just sounds so removed.
What is your strongest quality?
I am the most loyal and reliable friend you could have.
What is your biggest weakness?
Sometimes the aforementioned qualities drive me to take on too much and then I get broken.
What is your favorite movie and why?
Can’t pick just one . . . Braveheart, Shawshank Redemption, Return to Me, Finding Neverland, Fireproof, etc. . . . All because they speak to the human condition and something we all need (freedom, love, faith, hope, truth).
What would you like to ask God when you get to heaven?
Will you please hold me?
Who is your favorite artist/musician?
Waterdeep (husband/wife duo Don & Lori Chaffer). They have a song for every single emotion I’ve ever felt – it’s always good to know you’re not alone.
What are your hobbies/interests?
Writing, photography, music, people, reading, travel.
Do you play a musical instrument? If so, what?
Guitar.
Who most influenced your walk with Christ and why?
There have been several people who over the years have influenced my walk with Christ in one way or another. Some have inspired me to want to be a woman of faith, some have challenged me to be more disciplined . . . I try to take something from everyone with whom I have a relationship and see what God wants to teach me through them.
Please tell us about your family.
Well, everyone else is telling about spouses and children . . . I have neither of those yet. Someday, I hope . . . I am content but really, God, any day now would be okay by me.
Please tell us about your call to Central.
I had lost my job and was unemployed for two months when my friend told me about the opening at Central. He said he was acquainted with Pastor Scott and thought it would be the perfect fit for me, so I sent my resume in and prayed for God to give us all clear direction. He did and now here I am.
If you couldn’t do what you are doing now, what would you do?
I’d write full-time or be a full-time missionary.
What do you love the most about your job?
Getting to wake up every day and go in to work at a place that I love (unlike all of my past corporate jobs). I get to work with an awesome staff and serve an awesome church body. I am blessed.
Please share your salvation experience in how you came to Christ.
I trusted Christ as my Savior at 7 years old and went on living a normal life as a child. Once I got into junior high and high school, I could see so many people living life without meaning, and I could sense the great emptiness in that kind of life. I wanted to be set apart and I felt like something was missing – it was then that I realized I had to truly make Christ the Lord over every area of my life, and not just the Savior from my sins. I surrendered my life fully to Him then when I was 15 after a Falls Creek service. The Bible says that God has set eternity in the hearts of men, and I have always known that there was something more . . . something much greater than this life on earth. I am far from perfect and have seen more trials than I can count, but a relationship with Christ has completely filled any void in my life . . . I always deeply desired to have a true “Home” and now I know that I do.
