People don’t seem to be committed to many things these days. Marriages, Families, Companies, Sports teams, and even Churches have all felt the hit of people wanting out. What is our answer? We believe that Jesus committed himself to us when He went to the cross. Even though we believe that salvation is free we don’t believe that it is cheap. It cost God His own son. And following Christ is a commitment. Therefore we believe in formal church membership because it declares that we are committed to several things. We ask every church member to be committed to four major Concepts. We also ask every church member to make a commitment to do four very specific things concerning the body of Christ.. What are they?
“You are members of God’s very own family…and you belong in God’s household with every other Christian.” Ephesians 2:19 (LB)
“We are all parts of Christ’s Body, and it takes every one of us to make it complete, for we each have different work to do. So we belong to each other and need all the others.” Romans 12:4-5 (LB)
This includes: attending faithfully; living a godly example before the church and world, and by giving of your tithes and offerings.

“Continue to grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 3:18
“Take the time and trouble to keep yourself spiritually fit.” 1 Timothy 4:7 (Ph)
This includes your prayer life, devotion life, your life of stewardship, and your witness.

“There are different kinds of service to God…together you form the body of Christ and each one of you is a necessary part of it.” 1 Corinthians 12:5, 27 (LB)

“…you will be my witnesses for me…to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 (GN)
